Sergeant Butscher

The call rang out.

“Sergeant Butscher!” Only silence.

“Sergeant Alex Butscher!” Still, only silence.

“Sergeant Alexander P. Butscher!” The only response— lonely silence. The air and each breath felt heavy as his name is stricken from the roll.

So many moments come and go, and are never remembered. But this moment will never be forgotten. This season inundated with grueling hardship as I have said, “See you later” to young and old alike. Some were sick, and others in perfect health— yet the final roll call has gone out, and has been met with only silence as a response.

To my dearest family, friends and tribe: I remind you of the words of James. “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth.” I encourage you to live with all you have, love with all your heart, breathe in the fresh air, don’t worry so much, laugh every opportunity you have and give when you can with what you can. This life will be over in the blink of an eye, and you will never have tomorrow back.

As you read these names, allow the silence to weigh its’ heavy hand on your heart. Allow your heart to hurt and your eyes to cry, for life is precious and it is short.

The roll call goes out.

“Miguel Rivera.”

“Lewis Galimore.”

“Caleb Borth.”

“Apostle Emory Goodman.”

“Sergeant Alexander Butscher.”

Core, Crew, Crowd

Where we bring kingdom expansion, we bring kingdom blessing. As long as we are built on the foundation that is Jesus, Kingdom expansion is inevitable. There are many people in the body of Christ today that talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. They put on their make up and good clothes, go to church and pretend they don’t have mess. They envy after the brotherhood of the church, that team but you don’t get that brotherhood without sacrifice. You have to be willing to pay the price. How much of your talk are you willing to walk? There are three groups in the church. The first is the crowd. These people are like the 5,000 that Jesus fed. They are just part of the crowd. Members of the crowd come to receive something and that’s it. We need to begin to take what He’s given us and give it to others. God does not desire that the trials we face bring despair in our lives. God desires it brings about goodness and growth in our lives. God allowed the enemy to test Job but it wasn’t so that the enemy could test him. It was to put Job into a place so God could bless him the way He wanted. Now that doesn’t mean that sin takes place because it’s God’s will. Sometimes we’re stubborn enough that we need a little knock on the head. Jesus did not die on the cross for you to wander in the wilderness. It is time for you to enter into the promised land. When I come to the point in my spiritual maturity, enter into my place of kingdom purpose, there are still problems, but I know, good or bad, that God is there. There are many of us in the body of Christ who, we’re in church, but we haven’t crossed over the Jordan. We are still in the wilderness, wanting our tasty onions back in Egypt. Teamwork, Dream work

Teamwork is the only way the dream works. We need to begin to understand that when we go through the hard times, we are not alone. We do NOT stand alone. When we go through the hard times the first thing we want to do is step back. To take a break. Our dreams ought to be doing something, they ought to be working. Working dreams create the impossible, non-working dreams simply fade when you wake. I don’t want the destiny God has for me to vanish when I wake up. With work, dreams can come to pass. We can’t merely have a vision, we have to know where we are or we’ll never get to where we envision. We will not discover where we are if we have one perspective. A white, a black, a red, a yellow perspective. We must look from a Godly perspective. We live in a pagan world, any pagan perspective we bring to our starting point is already leading us the wrong way. You are first and foremost a child of God; we are held to a higher standard.
